In This Together (BFA Thesis)

Project type

Advertising Campaign

Date

May 2025

Location

Charlotte, North Carolina

For my final thesis project in my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design program, I created an advertising and social media campaign to confront the growing wave of conservative hate against transgender and non-binary people in North Carolina. Through bold visuals and direct messaging, the campaign challenges transphobia while emphasizing that this hate affects everyone.

Divided into three parts—a set of posters, a Facebook video, and a series of billboards—the campaign is designed to reach an older conservative audience, sparking reflection and potential change. A warm yet striking orange color palette was chosen to be both inviting and impossible to ignore. The tone is direct and unfiltered, yet playful, calling out public attitudes toward trans people. Billboards and posters are placed in high-visibility areas, while the Facebook video meets conservatives on their own turf, using right-wing buzzwords to draw them in before subtly shifting their perspective. By blending strategy with impact, this campaign aims to foster empathy, awareness, and accountability in the fight against transphobia. I really hope it leaves a lasting impression.
